A leaked prototype of what could be the successor to the Nokia N86 has been put up for sale on eBay.
The handset, codenamed N00 ‘Prototype C’, looks authentic from images supplied with the listing, which the seller claims is the Nokia N87.
A front-facing shot of phone shows it to be running Nokia’s Symbian3 operating system while a 12-megapixel snapper with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash, the same as the recently launched N8, is revealed on the back. The monochrome body and noticeably cheap looking buttons however, give the handset a rather dated appearance, so this could very well be a relic from the past and not an actual product in development.
The seller’s asking price of US$799.99, which works out to roughly £514, is no chump change, but it pales in comparison to the sum that was paid for the lost iPhone 4 prototype earlier this year. Rest assured, we don't imagine Nokia sending out the Bob after anyone snapping up this rare artefact.
