Deciding the winners
Public choice
It's important to us that real customers have their say in who wins.
So, we've surveyed thousands of broadband, TV and mobile customers to find out what they think of their suppliers. Their responses will determine the winners of our public choice category awards.
Judges’ choice
We assembled an expert panel of leaders across consumer technology.
Each judge will independently select their winners from the shortlisted networks and providers in our judges' choice categories.
Uswitch data and other sources
For some categories, we look at insights from our switching data or from other organisations, like Opensignal and Ofcom (that’s the regulator for telecoms in the UK) to crown the right winners.

Public choice and internal data
Uswitch commissioned Opinium Research to poll 22,162 UK telecoms customers in December 2024 to determine the nominees and winners for the public choice award categories.
Of those respondents, 20,000 were broadband customers, 20,397 were mobile customers, and 14,048 were digital TV customers - all of whom had been signed up to their service for at least three months. The group of respondents provided by Opinium was a nationally representative sample of consumers across the UK. Most award nominees and winners were determined by the provider that received the highest percentages in relevant categories to topics in question.
For National Broadband Provider of the Year, Regional Provider of the Year and Mobile Network of the Year, the average customer satisfaction scores from a number of relevant questions were combined to derive best overall scores, and subsequently a winner. For the ‘Most Popular’ award categories, winners were chosen based on a 50/50 combination of average customer overall satisfaction scores and internal Uswitch sales data.
All broadband providers were required to meet a 2% minimum sample size requirement, while mobile networks required 1%, to ensure there were enough respondents to make the sample size representative.
For consideration in the Broadband category awards, the minimum sample size requirement was at least 400 respondents per provider. We highlighted three sub-categories of Mobiles awards: Network, SIM only and Handset Contract. The 1% minimum size requirement was 200 (Network), 100 (SIM only) and 86 (Contract) respondents per provider.
