Uswitch comments on the news that NOW Broadband customers will be hit by a £36 a year average bill increase from 5th July 2024

Sabrina Hoque, telecoms expert at Uswitch.com, comments: “Another mid-contract price increase unfortunately means bigger bills for already cash-strapped consumers.

“NOW Broadband customers didn’t receive inflation-linked increases at the same time that many other providers announced increases in April, as the company does not link their increases to inflation.

“However, it is encouraging that NOW Broadband customers have the option to leave penalty free if they don’t want to accept this change.

“If you’re a NOW Broadband customer, it’s worth running a comparison to see what options are available for you. You have 31 days from when you are notified of the price rise to see if you can get a better deal elsewhere.

“Data from Uswitch shows that consumers can save as much as £179 by switching broadband providers.

“It is important to note also that if you are a NOW ‘Broadband Basics’ customer and using a broadband social tariff, your broadband bill should not increase.”
